Rosa Young is a practising artist and experienced art educator with over 30 years of teaching experience in the UK and Korea.
She provides individual and small-group tuition in drawing, painting and mixed media, together with specialist portfolio preparation for Foundation, BA and MA applications, Architecture and Art & Design courses, and 11+, 13+ and 16+ Art Scholarships.
Her teaching combines strong observational and practical skills with experimentation, conceptual development and each student's individual creative voice.
PORTFOLIO PREPARATION
University & College Applications
Individual portfolio preparation for Foundation, BA and MA applications in Fine Art, Architecture, Fashion and other Art & Design subjects.
Guidance includes portfolio development, sketchbooks, personal visual language and interview preparation.
Previous students have prepared applications for UAL, UCL Architecture, Cambridge Architecture and Bournemouth Animation.
Art Scholarships: Portfolio and interview preparation for 11+, 13+ and 16+ , at independent schools.
GCSE & A-LEVEL ART
Individual guidance for GCSE and A-Level Art, from developing ideas and sketchbooks to experimentation, final outcomes and portfolio presentation.
Students are encouraged to develop
their own ideas and individual visual language, rather than simply following a set style.

DRAWING & OBSERVATION
Drawing lessons develop strong observational and practical skills, tailored to each student's level and interests.
Lessons include:
• Proportion, shape and line
• Tonal drawing and shading
• Negative space and perspective
• Pencil, charcoal, ink and other drawing media
• Portrait, still life, landscape, architecture and botanical drawing
Students are encouraged to develop both technical confidence and their own individual approach to drawing.
